ADA and Bologna Universities' Joint Certificate Program on "Sustainable Gardening Systems" at the "MacFrut" Exhibition

Within the framework of the Italy-Azerbaijan University project, the final module of the joint certificate program on "Sustainable Gardening Systems" organized by ADA and Bologna Universities with the support of the "MacFrut" Academy has been held. For this purpose, the program participants visited Bologna on May 6. The program, which started at Bologna University, will continue until May 10 in Rimini, where "MacFrut", one of the largest horticultural exhibitions in Europe, is being held.

Participants have the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest trends, new generation technologies and specialized companies in the relevant sector, and participate in numerous seminars on research and experiments currently being carried out in this field.

It should be noted that our country is represented for the first time at the "MacFrut" exhibition. Domestic companies exporting fruits, vegetables, spices and packaged food products produced in our country, as well as some institutions playing a role in the formation of the food value chain, are represented in the pavilion prepared under the "Made in Azerbaijan" theme by AZPROMO. ADA University's newly established Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences is also represented in the pavilion. The decision to represent our country at this exhibition was made during the meetings of AZPROMO, the Ministry of Agriculture and other state bodies with the President of the "MacFrut" exhibition Renzo Piraccini during his visit to ADA University in 2023.

On the opening day of the exhibition, the participants of the certificate program were together with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Italy Rashad Aslanov at the Azerbaijan pavilion.

It should be recalled that the "MacFrut" exhibition is a partner of the joint certificate program on "Sustainable Gardening Systems". As an example of this partnership, the Italy-Azerbaijan Gardening Exhibition was organized within the framework of the Baku module this year, where about 10 Italian companies were represented.

The aforementioned certificate program serves as a dialogue platform between partners operating in the agricultural and food sectors of Azerbaijan and Italy. Throughout the program, participants visited gardening and farming laboratories, experimental fields and gardens, and got acquainted with advanced experience and new scientific practices in this field.
